YOUR HOSTS
Your hosts, Heather Boulden and Jeremy Hemphill, have lived in the
Territory for 35+ years. We just love where we live and it gives us
pleasure to share our piece of paradise, our 'Eden' with you. If you
have queries about your travel plans where local advise may assist,
we're happy to help.
We both have a keen interest in the environment and are members of the
NT Field Naturalists Club, Friends of Fogg Dam and the Bird Observers
Club of Australia. Heather came to the Territory as a bush nurse and relieved
with the Aerial Medical Service. She worked throughout the Top End and
was given an Aboriginal name and place in the Japu (Yolgnu) clan of East
Arnhem Land.
As travelers, we have first hand experience of things that make a difference
to the quality of your experience. We offer friendly service and are sensitive
to your need for either seclusion, or involvement with us and our life
on the farm.
Our dogs, Carlie and Emir are friendly. They are both protecting breeds: Carlie is a Maremma and Emir is an Anatolian Shepherd. They accept native wildlife on our property (e.g. ground birds and wallabies) while keeping out dingos
and wild pigs from neighbouring Harrison Dam.
Mowgli and Moet are two elderly Burmese cats (brown and champagne
torte) who live indoor upstairs.
GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
Eden at Fogg Dam supports the community in a variety of ways.
Special Children's Christmas Party supported since 1995.
Litchfield Christian School - provided prize for fundraising quiz night 2009.
We have supported a number of other fundraisers including the Police and Citizen's Boys Club.
Friends of Fogg Dam Inc. Heather and Jeremy initiated this group to: assist in protecting the biodiversity of this Territory treasure; and to enhance the experience of visitors to the conservation reserve.
